There has been a lot of confusion when we talk about extremism and moderation; and while it is somewhat undeniably relative, there remains the germane need for the narratives of moderation to be properly defined, diplomatically disseminated in a most just and intellectual manner. The propagation of moderation to all spheres of society – from the elites to the masses – is most necessary so as to combat extremism, handle negative and unwarranted perceptions to even to managing differences. In general terms, moderation is an act of balance between two extremes or tendencies in handling issues and conflicts. Moderation – as a philosophy – is an area that translates to the various faiths and cultures of the world and we believe that it can play a part in navigating the global scenario that we are currently facing, especially in bridging differences and resolving disputes.
